An original oriental hand made with wool rug tight even miniscule knots indicating master weaver 1960's all Wool Hand Knotted. This rug probably sold for $10,000 to $15,000 in a special boutique rug store in the 1970's in areas such as Madison Ave. NYC, Greenwich,CT, Robertson Blvd Beverly Hills, etc. The pattern and design is the iconic and historical Geometric pattern. What makes it more desirable than 19th century serapi carpets is the wonderful sky blue color with cream center medallion. Soft suplle thick durable full pile. Some minor imperfections and wear on outer border near fringe consistent with age. 2 or 3 small areas.
